The Big One 🎉

We said we were heads down on stability. We weren’t lying. But somewhere between fixing bugs and drinking too much coffee, we also shipped one of our biggest updates yet.

v1.33.0 is here and it’s a lot. Grab a cocoa. ☕🧡

🔔 Notifications (Actually Working Now)

Let’s address the elephant in the room. Notifications were… not great. We fixed that.

  • @mentions now actually notify people

    • Groundbreaking, we know

  • @everyone now sends notifications to the entire server

    • Restricted to owners and admins so your members don’t lose their minds

  • Fixed the notification system not working at all

    • Yeah. It was bad. It’s fixed. Moving on.

💬 Messaging Gets Serious

  • Message forwarding is here

    • Forward messages server to server, channel to channel, or server to DM
    • Share what matters, wherever it needs to go

  • Timestamp support added

    • Reference specific times in messages that display in each user’s local timezone

  • More powerful markdown operations

    • More formatting options, more control over how your messages look

  • Markdown support in user bios

    • Your bio can finally be as expressive as you are

📸 Introducing: Media Channels

This one’s new. Like, actually new.

  • New Media channel type added

    • A beautiful grid of all content shared in the channel
    • Every message must have media attached - this is a visual space
    • Add captions to give your media context
    • Perfect for art channels, photography, moodboards, announcements with visuals, and more

  • Modernized and reworked the entire media system under the hood

    • You won’t see the difference, but you’ll feel it
    • Faster, more reliable, built to scale

🔐 Security Gets a Real Upgrade

  • Full MFA overhaul

    • Enroll, verify, and manage Multi-Factor Authentication properly from Settings
    • It actually works now and it’s actually smooth

  • Recovery codes for MFA

    • Locked out of your authenticator app? Recovery codes have you covered
    • Generate them. Store them somewhere safe. Trust us.

  • Fixed various security guards throughout the platform

    • Tightened up a lot of the under-the-hood protection that was misbehaving

👤 Account Management: Actually Good Now

  • Switch between multiple accounts with a brand new UI

    • Right from MiniProfile - clean, fast, no faff
    • Finally works the way it should

  • Fixed account removal with a confirmation step

    • Removing an account now asks you to confirm
    • Because accidents happen and we’d rather they didn’t

⚙️ Server & Permission Improvements

  • More channel permissions added

    • More granular control over who can do what and where

  • Ability to rename roles

    • Your roles can finally have the names they deserve

  • Updated onboarding

    • Better first impressions for new server members

  • Moved server settings logic around

    • Things are where you’d expect them to be now

🔍 Search & Navigation

  • Improved global search

    • Faster, more accurate, more useful

  • New dedicated Subscriptions tab

    • All billing and monetary items now live in one place
    • Manage your Cocoa subscription without digging through settings

📱 Mobile Improvements

  • Mobile presence indicator added

    • See who’s online, idle, or DND right from your mobile device

  • Fixed realtime checks overriding user-set presence

    • Set yourself to DND and actually stay DND
    • Realtime updates no longer fight you for control of your own status

⚠️ Known Issues

At this time, there are no known major issues.

🧭 What’s Next

The roadmap is slowly coming back to life. We’re not going to rush it, but v1.33.0 is proof that stability and progress aren’t mutually exclusive.
